Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Financial contributions are an important source of funding as we provide support for library programs and other expenditures. Contributions of any amount are welsome and tax deductible. Please contact us at friendsofthebrentwoodlibrary@gmail.com
The entirety of our inventory is supplied by donations from the community. Our Second Story Book Shop’s stocks new and gently used bestsellers, fiction and non-fiction, children’s classics, homeschool/educational materials, puzzles and so much more! We sell both paperbacks and hardcover.
The Friends of the Brentwood Library would like to thank the community for an abundance of book donations. Without these donations, we could not operate our store. Proceeds from our sales benefit programs at the library.
We do not accept:
Textbooks, Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Time-Life books
Books older than 10 years old with the exceptions of classics and children’s books
No digital media- audiobooks, DVD’s and CD’s
No cookbooks, gardening, self-help or religion/spiritual
We have quarterly pop-up sales.
Our sales are listed on our website, on social media, the local media, and advertised inside and outside the library.
Our shop is open during library hours, and we are staffed Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If a volunteer is not present for payment, you may use a cash drop box located on the wall behind our desk. Our Amazon & Pango shops are available online 24/7.
Our funds are given back to the library in the form of funding library programs like story times, community programs like the Literary Stroll, materials, supplies, and minor maintenance for the library.
